I am in SHOCK at the difference in how my photos look with my new lens (yes, I broke down and bought a 50mm f/1.8) and my photos are SO much clearer and have attitude now (yay!) As you can see, I made quiche tonight…spinach onion feta quiche to be exact! And it was yuuuummmmmyyyyy too! So here are some photos using my new lens and a walkthrough of this yummy quiche (recipe to follow).
So here are some of the ingredients (hello feta!)
You’ll need:
1 medium onion, diced 6 oz. package fresh baby spinach
2 large eggs 2 large egg whites
1/2 c all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt pinch cayenne pepper
1 1/3 c milk 1/2 c feta cheese
Cooked bacon (optional)
Preheat your oven to 400F and lightly grease a 10 inch quiche pan or pie plate :)
In a medium frying pan, cook your diced onion with a bit of olive oil over medium-high heat until translucent and tender (this is where I add in the cooked bacon). Add in the fresh spinach and cook until just wilted. Set aside to cool for a few minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together your eggs, flour, baking powder and salt. Whisk in the milk (I just LOVE glass bottle milk, if you haven’t tried it yet I apologize but get your *&% to the store and get some!), then stir in the spinach mixture.
Pour your quiche mix into your prepared pan, sprinkle with the feta cheese and back for 25 minutes or until the center is set and the edges are nice and brown. Let it set for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. This is the yummy end result……
ENJOY!!!

YUUUMMM i LOVE quiche! i've never made it...seems pretty doable :)
I love the nifty-fifty. It works wonders. I used that for all of my photos from England. It is a great little lens for cheap. LOVE IT.
Ps. This little French girl simply ADORES Quiche. Mmmmmmm Quiche.
Pps. The reason I capitalize Quiche is because I like the uppercase Q better than the lowercase q. :)
LOVE these photos! 50mm 1.8 is the most amazing thing that ever happened to me! <3 <3
Congratulations on the new lens! I love quiche and can't wait to make this one!!
Thanks for the encouragement! Wouldn't you know that one of the biggest news events in the world happened the week I decided to give up extra news for Lent. >.<
